The Spengler Doppler also features 3 different heart-rate monitoring modes:

Real-time FHR mode: 

Displays signal strength, fetal heart rate and fetal heartbeat waveform in real time 

Average FHR mode:

Displays the average value of the last 8 fetal heart rate measurements. Heart rate values and waveform change more gradually for easier interpretation. 

Manual Mode:

Displays the average value calculated from the number of measurements selected by the user
